FEES AND CHARGES

(All cheques should be made payable to the Corporation of the City of Brockville.)

NOTE:          Fees are subject to change by Council.  Please contact Planning Department Staff for current fees.

a)         Application Fee

Except for parking lots for which a fee of $425.00 is required, an application fee of $820.00 is required when application is first made for Site Plan Control Approval.  Second submission fees of $950.00 are required when a second submission is required and third submission fees of $1,060.00 are required when a third submission or subsequent submission is required.  For this reason, the development proposal should be discussed with Planning Department Staff prior to making a submission to alleviate the need for subsequent submissions. 

b)         Financial Security

Financial security, in favour of the City of Brockville, shall be provided to 50% of the value, as determined by the City, of the proposed work, specifically being the installation of all landscaping, fencing, drainage facilities, paving, curbing, parking space demarcation, and exterior lighting proposed.  Such financial security shall be in the form of an Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit, prepared to the specifications of the City (see Schedule "A”), or cash deposit, or other alternative financial security as deemed appropriate by the City Treasurer, and shall be provided to the City prior to the authorization of the Agreement by the City.

c)         Development Charges

None applicable at this time.

d)         Building Permit Fees

Building permit fees are required and must be paid to the Chief Building Official prior to the review of your application for a building permit.  Building permit fees are reviewed on an annual basis by Council for the Corporation of the City of Brockville.

e)         Curb Crossing Deposit

A deposit fee of $35.00 per linear metre of street frontage must be paid to the Chief Building Official prior to the issuance of a building permit.

f)          Parkland Dedication

Council for the Corporation of the City of Brockville, in accordance with City of Brockville By-law 264-85, may require parkland dedication, cash-in-lieu of parkland, or a combination of the two.  If the land is to be used for commercial or industrial use and is adjacent to the City's parkway system along the waterfront or creek system, Council may request up to two percent of the land or its equivalent value.  For other uses, five percent (5%) may be required.  Land value is established as the value on the day before the building permit is issued as determined by an accredited real estate appraiser.
